Story is one way life attempts to serve life—to remember, imagine, communicate, coordinate, and create together.
When our stories remain grounded in life, they help us respond to living needs. When they lose that ground, life is increasingly required to serve the stories.
Common ground is not simply agreement between our different perspectives. It is the life from which all our perspectives arise: interdependent, sensing, relating, and becoming.
Seeing life as our ground changes the question—from how life can adapt to our systems to how we can build new systems from that ground.

Serving Life takes this inquiry into practice. It explores how work, governance, and society might be organized when life is not an input to the system, but its ground.

The Common Ground Protocol helps people observe life together, notice the stories shaping their choices, and coordinate action without needing to share the same worldview or arrive at a predetermined answer.
It begins with interdependence. Freedom is not separation from others, and responsibility is not submission to them. They are two sides of the same capacity: to participate in shaping the conditions that shape us all.

These projects are living experiments in learning to distinguish life from our stories about it, ground those stories in what life reveals, create from common ground, and build systems that serve life.
