Why Radical World Exists

Many of us are seeking better ways to live, work, organize, and create together. Yet even our most promising efforts can reproduce the patterns we intended to leave behind.

• We change the structure, but familiar forms of power return.
• We adopt new practices, but collaboration remains difficult.
• We replace one story with another, only to find that people are once again being asked to adapt themselves to it.

The challenge is not simply to choose better stories or systems. It is to create ways of organizing that remain grounded in, and accountable to, the life they are meant to serve.

Serving Life

Stories help us make sense of experience, communicate what matters, coordinate action, and create together. But they can become detached from the life they arose to serve. When that happens, protecting the story can become more important than responding to what life reveals.

Serving Life is an evolving, participatory publication exploring how our stories can remain open and accountable to life.

It invites us to see ourselves not as separate individuals standing outside life, but as participants in an ongoing living process. From this perspective, personal and systemic change are no longer separate problems.

It asks:

• How can we observe life before reducing it to inherited stories?
• How can the ways we organize remain responsive to what life reveals?
• What becomes possible when serving life is our starting point?

Organizing From Common Ground

Seeing differently is not enough. We also need ways to observe, decide, and create together.

Common ground does not mean compromise or a story everyone must accept. It means recognizing the living process in which all our different experiences and perspectives arise—and to which our actions remain accountable.

Creating from common ground means observing life together, noticing the stories shaping our choices, and coordinating action without requiring one another to conform to a predetermined answer.

The Common Ground Protocol is one practical way we are learning to do this. Emerging from Serving Life, it helps groups move from observation to collective action.

It begins with interdependence. Freedom is not separation from others, and responsibility is not submission to them. They are two sides of the same capacity: to participate in shaping the conditions that shape us all.

Radical World connects inquiry with experimentation. It is a place to:
